Today's Staff Shout Out is for Katrina Willey! Katrina is in her first year at Baraga, and she is a one-on-one aide for special ed students. Katrina has a ton of patience and flexibility for the unexpected! She is quiet, but always willing to help out however she can. We are so lucky to have Katrina at Baraga! Thank you for all you do!

Today's Staff Shout Out goes to Ms. Stephanie Gezequel! Steph has been at Baraga for three years now, and she is so kind and laid back. She takes time to listen to students when they need support, and she has a quiet demeanor that makes her students feel accepted and valued. We love her quirky sense of humor, and how she always finds a positive way to move forward after a hard day. Thanks for all you do, Steph! We love having you in our Viking Family!

Order your yearbook now! The elementary yearbook is $15 and the high school yearbook (6th-12th) is $28 soft cover. There is an option to upgrade to hardcover. The BHS Physics class is doing one final Krispy Kreme fundraiser donut sale for the year. One dozen original glazed donuts cost $13, we are not selling the assorted dozens this time. Anyone who missed out on ordering but would like to order can email mfrantti@baragaschools.org with your order. Order deadline is Thursday, April 13. Donuts will be delivered on Sunday, April 16 or Monday, April 17.
Today's Staff Shout Out goes to Kerrie Keranen! Kerrie has a way of making all kids feel welcome and appreciated when they are around her. She is also known for her sense of humor! Kerrie has worked at Baraga for many years, previously as a kitchen staff member and currently as a special education aid. We appreciate her ability to roll with the punches and keep smiling, even on the hard days. Thank you for all you do, Kerrie!

Today's Staff Shout Out goes to Dawn VanLerberghe! Dawn does a great job of connecting with our students. She has a calm presence that kids respond to when they are having a bad day. Dawn also shares her love of reading with her students by recommending books and sharing her opinions on stories, authors, and genres. Thank you for all you do for our school, Dawn!
Today's Staff Shout Out goes to Ashlee Adams, our new 4th grade teacher. Ashlee put on the elementary Christmas Concert this year, and she did a FANTASTIC job! Ashlee is very talented with music and singing. She is also a wonderful teacher and her students love the hands-on approach she has to teaching science. Her and her husband recently moved to our area, and they are enjoying all things "Yooper". We are so glad you decided to join our Viking Family, Ashlee! We appreciate you!

Today's Staff Shout Out goes to Mr. Ben Johnston! Our students and staff are so lucky to have Mr. J in our Viking family. Ben works very hard to give his students the best possible education to prepare them for the rigorous classes they will encounter in college. He also teaches kids to appreciate the outdoors and to look for ways to challenge themselves to learn on a deeper level. Thank you for all you do for our school and our students, Mr. j!

Today's Staff Shout Out goes out to Mrs. Jackie Heikkinen! Jackie has been part of our Viking family for 11 years, but transitioned into teaching just last year. The kids love that she is fun and compassionate and always has time to listen to them. We are so grateful for all you do for our school, Jackie!
