STUDENT SUMMER JOB OPPORTUNITIES:
See Tracy in the High School Office for additional information.
There is a Geoheritage Summer Internship available for students 15-18 years of age who are looking for an exciting summer paid internship.
The Geoheritage Summer Internship is a 10-day experiential training program that provides opportunities for students who live in the Keweenaw Bay and Keweenaw Peninsula region to learn about reading landscapes, local history and heritage, geology, GIS technology, and navigation.
The internship will explore various sites around Keweenaw Bay by land and by water aboard the Michigan Tech Research Vessel Agassiz – the ancestral, traditional, and contemporary lands and waters of the Anishinaabeg, the Three Fires Confederacy of Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi peoples and their more than human relatives.
The internship will cultivate skills in geology content knowledge, geospatial technology, navigation, Anishinaabemowin (Anishinaabe language), listening and communication, and understanding the history, culture, and heritage of our place.
